Trump critic is ‘flush’ with criticism for whiny Marjorie Taylor Greene

A Donald Trump critic is dunking on a pair of MAGA loyalists for focusing on fringe issues over GOP elections.
“You guys spent the whole day focused on the bathroom. Do your thing,” Ron Filipkowski, editor-in-chief of MediasTouch, posted to X in response to Marjorie Taylor Greene accusing Democrats of stealing a California U.S. House race.
Filipkowski was referring to Greene and her colleague Nancy Mace spending most of the past couple of days in front of TV cameras in an effort to ban Democrat Sarah McBride — the first transgender person to be elected to Congress — from using women’s restrooms in the Capitol once she’s sworn into office next year.
Republicans have narrow control of the House after this month’s election and votes are still being counted in several races, including in incumbent Republican John Duarte’s race in California’s 13th Congressional District. Democratic challenger Adam Gray could end up costing Republicans another seat, reports the nonpartisan Cook Political Report’s Dave Wasserman.
“Breaking: newly tabulated Merced Co. ballots cut #CA13 Rep. John Duarte’s (R) lead from 1,564 votes to just *227* votes. This is going down to the wire, and an Adam Gray (D) win would cost the GOP another House seat,” Wasserman posted to X. “Merced Co. estimates another 3,182 ballots left to tabulate, and if they break like the last batch did, Gray (D) would take the lead. Also several thousand votes left to count across Stanislaus, San Joaquin, Madera and Fresno parts of #CA13 that could tip the balance.”
Filipkowski kept pointing out on social media how much time Greene and Mace were focused elsewhere.
“Nancy Mace has now made 126 posts in the last 24 hours about the bathroom in the Capitol,” he posted to X, to which Mace responded, “I’ve been working overtime for you, Ron.”
“House Republicans haven’t been able to pass their own budget for the past two years, but they are laser focused on the bathroom in the Capitol after wrapping up the Hunter Biden investigation,” Filipkowski added.
A resolution proposed Monday by Mace of South Carolina would prohibit any lawmakers and House employees from “using single-sex facilities other than those corresponding to their biological sex.” Mace said the bill is aimed specifically at McBride, who was elected to the House this month from Delaware.
The debate over whether transgender people should be allowed to use the bathrooms that align with their gender identity has been prevalent across the U.S. and was a focal point of Trump’s campaign. At least 11 states have adopted laws barring transgender girls and women from girls and women’s bathrooms at public schools, and in some cases other government facilities.
Democrats, including McBride, denounced the GOP effort as “bullying” and a “distraction.”
“This is a blatant attempt from far right-wing extremists to distract from the fact that they have no real solutions to what Americans are facing,” McBride said. “We should be focused on bringing down the cost of housing, health care, and child care, not manufacturing culture wars.”
